Time and community, a talk with the band Julie Cira

Julie Cira is a “sometimes alt-country/americana, sometimes lo-fi indie rock” band of Northampton. Members Julie and Elle joined Saul Bez and Lucy Martirosyan at WMUA for an interview.

They’re self-described as “femme fatale” and “punk at heart.” Julie Cira’s self-titled EP was released in July 2016.

“This song is about how we heal through the ways that other people change us and make us into new people and new experiences – and that’s a way of healing,” says Julie Adamo about her song “Time.”

The songs played in this interview were “Time,” “Witches” (from “Dead Letter Demos”), and “Flame on Heart.”
